44 Minutes Of Battlefield 1 Multiplayer Awesomeness

Gung-ho, I say.

Ah, Battlefield 1 gameplay footage at last! Considering that E3’s going on, it’s about time DICE drew back the curtains on their impossibly tantalizing World War I shooter. We’ve got a staggering 44 minutes of multiplayer gameplay, livestreamed by Youtuber LevelCap.

While we’re still mostly in the dark about the single player campaign, DICE did go on record saying that Battlefield: Bad Company was part of the inspiration, and that is a very good thing–Bad Company’s snarky tone and wide-open environments set a high bar for the single-player experience that series still hasn’t  returned to.

But back to the multiplayer gameplay on hand, all 44 minutes of it: LevelCap showcases the new melee mechanics, as well as weapons and classes. Note the zeppelin takedown. Much cool, many cool. We’re particularly impressed with DICE doubling back on destructibility, apart from the canned Levelution mechanic in multiplayer, destructibility is something that was increasingly sidelined after Bad Company 2. That zeppelin took down a whole village when it crashing down. Much awesome. How pumped are you about Battlefield 1? Let us know in the comments below.
