Activision Hints At New Crash Game, Community Passion Could Lead To “Other Things”

Activision CEO says "we're experimenting with Crash".

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is finally available and already seems to be doing well among critics and fans (it recently topped sales charts in the UK for its launch week). Though not exactly the Crash sequel everyone has been clamouring for, it could lead to “other things” according to Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg.

Speaking to Games Industry Biz, Hirshberg said that, “We are experimenting with Crash. We know there’s a vocal fanbase that wanted that to come back. But you never know if that is emblematic of a larger audience or just this niche, nostalgia-based community. So far, we are seeing some real passion for it, so that could lead to other things.”

For now though, Activision seems focused on catering to its current communities. “Of course, we are always trying to find the next big thing. But our first priority is to make sure we are servicing the communities that we are already lucky enough to have.”

It’s best to enjoy the N. Sane Trilogy and hope that its success leads to something else. Would you like to see a brand new Crash Bandicoot? Let us know in the comments.
