Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 Gameplay Showcases the Entire Pulse-Pounding Prologue

A team that hunts Xenomorphs together is likely to stay alive together, and this co-op shooter takes that notion to new heights.

IGN has just showcased exclusive gameplay from the prologue mission of Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2. If the action isn’t enough, they’re joined by members of the development team in a rundown of its features that have us itching to give it a go.

We’ve got an extensive character creator to make our in-game avatar our own – a welcome addition over the first game. The iconic alien motion tracker is our go-to tool for identifying the presence of Xenomorphs in an area. Alongside various classes, there’s a custom class for mixing and matching perks. However, you’ll need to put some time into unlocking it.

There are multiple difficulty options and friendly fire to worry about on the higher ones. Of course, the Xenomorphs remain an agile and nasty bunch whose erratic movements can make it easy to accidentally nail your teammates.

The developers discussed the different types, although they assert that they’ve tried to remain faithful to the Aliens universe as much as possible. You’re going to want to find every advantage you can as you explore dark areas, the threat of the Xenos always looming large.

This is a shooter that could test your nerves as well as your skills when it releases this Summer for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC. Stay tuned for more reveals until then.
