AMD Releases AMD Radeon Software Crimson Edition Graphics Driver

That name is a mouthful.

AMD has finally released the first version of its AMD Radeon Software Crimson Edition graphics driver. The software is AMD’s attempt at providing a solution to a long held AMD problem- which is that while AMD may make great hardware, their terrible software support, with unintuitive clients, and lack of proper driver updates, basically renders this advantage moot.

The AMD Raedon Software Crimson Edition is AMD’s answer to Nvidia’s GeForce Experience. It comes loaded with a fair few features that should allow users to get access to some power user level tasks with ease:

  • Radeon Settings
  • New Install UI
  • Liquid VR
  • Asynchronous Shaders
  • Shader Cache
  • Optimized Flip Queue Size
  • Freesync™ Enhancements
  • Custom Resolution Support
  • Frame Pacing Enhancements
  • Frame Rate Target Control Enhancements
  • Updated Video Feature support for ‘Carrizo’ products
  • Power Optimization
  • Directional Scaling
  • Dynamic Contrast Update
  • DisplayPort to HDMI 2.0 support
