Amnesia: The Dark Descent and A Machine for Pigs are among some of the most popular horror games of all time- The Dark Descent in particular is largely responsible for the current wave of indie games that tackle the horror game genre. PC players around the world were enthralled by The Dark Descent‘s terror. So of course, a new audience getting to play these games for the very first time is a pretty big deal- especially since the Amnesia games haven’t aged one bit.
GamingBolt got the chance to sit down and talk to Thomas Grip, Creative Director at Frictional Games, and one of the things we decided to ask him about was the upcoming PS4 Amnesia collection, which makes both those games playable for console players for the very first time. It appears that, apart from making the games available for PlayStation owners, there isn’t much else in the way of added bells and whistles that the Amnesia collection will have.
Grip confirmed that no special improvements for the Amnesia Collection were planned for the PS4 Pro. He also confirmed that while The Dark Descent and Justine would run at 1080p and 60fps and A Machine for Pigs may only manage 30fps. “The Dark Descent and Justine will run 1080 and 60fps. Some annoying physics issues might force us to do 30fps on A Machine for Pigs. We will have to see,” he said, adding that the team is “still working on” getting A Machine for Pigs to run at 60 frames.
Amnesia Collection will be due out on PS4. You can already play both the games on PC if you don’t want to wait.
