Animal Crossing: New Horizons Commercials Are All About That Peaceful Deserted Island Life

Catching fish, chasing bugs, pulling out weeds, talking to animals- sounds like a fun time.

Now less than a month away from release, Nintendo have been ratcheting up the marketing for Animal Crossing: New Horizons over the past week or so. They’ve released two now commercials for the charming life sim game in Japan, to give a glimpse at what’s going to be in store for players when Tom Nook sends us to a deserted island.

The commercials themselves are in Japanese, but they show both show interesting snippets of gameplay of what New Horizons is going to be all about, from setting up your camp on a deserted island to catching bugs and fish to conversing with your anthropomorphized neighbours. The first trailer shows a Villager (or is it Islander now?) arriving at the island in an airplane, while the second trailer shows gameplay footage. Take a look below.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is out on the Switch on March 20. Recent developments suggest that Nintendo are rethinking the restrictions they were originally going to place on players in terms of save data recovery and save data transfers. Meanwhile, the game will be playable at PAX East later this month.
