Following months of radio silence on the status of the game, Respawn Entertainment soft-launched Apex Legends Mobile in select regions couple of months ago, and confirmed soon afterward that it would be launching in full worldwide later this Summer. Now, the developer has confirmed that Apex Legends Mobile is heading to Android and iOS devices this month.
Confirmed in a recent Apex Legends developer panel attended by VGC, mobile design director Jordan Patz at Respawn Entertainment confirmed the same. “I’m excited to announce, finally, that Apex Legends Mobile will be coming to all players worldwide in May,” Patz said.
Apex Legends Mobile is being developed by a dedicated team at Respawn, alongside Tencent’s Lightspeed & Quantum Studios, which is known for developing PUBG Mobile, among other things.
Similar to the console and PC version of Apex Legends, the mobile version will be free to play, with its own separate battle pass, collectible cosmetics, and unique unlocks. Currently, the game is not cross-play enabled. At launch, it will feature 10 Legends including fan-favourites such as Wraith and Bloodhound, and well-known locations like World’s Edge and Kings Canyon, alongside new content.
No concrete date for the release has been revealed yet, but it will be sometime this month. Check out the minimum requirements for the game’s iOS and Android versions below.
