Ever wondered what’s taking Studio Wildcard’s ARK: Survival Evolved so long to release on the PlayStation 4? The game’s development state holds the answer.
Currently available through Steam Early Access and Game Preview on PC and Xbox One respectively, the lack of any early access program on PS4 means that Sony won’t let ARK: Survival Evolved release for the console.
According to the developer in a forum post, “As for the PS4 Release of Ark: Survival Evolved, it is currently up to Sony/ We’ve been informed that we can’t release the game on this platform until it has been finished.
“We would like nothing more than to make Ark available on PS4 as soon as possible, as we already have an awesome PS4 version of the game running internally. If you would like to see it sooner, please let Sony know, as it’s unfortunately not our decision.”
It’s funny because Paragon is also currently in early access but can be played on PS4 through a starter kit (and if it’s not an early access, why is there an open beta planned for later?). What are your thoughts on ARK: Survival Evolved’s predicament? Let us know below.
