ARK: Survival Evolved Xbox One X Enhancements Detailed, Two Graphical Modes Included

The game will assuredly run smoothly on the new console; cross-play support will be delayed till November.

The Xbox One X will soon be out and it will be the most powerful gaming console when it’s out. Ark: Survival Evolved will be making full use of the new console’s capabilities. Studio Wildcard has promised that the extra memory available in the Xbox One X will ensure smooth gameplay and will also eliminate the possibility of crashes.

While the game will not run at 4K resolution on the new console, it will support two different graphical modes, one at 1440p@ 30fps and the other at 1080p@ 60fps. Both modes will also support HDR lighting. Given how graphically demanding the game is, it will indeed be impressive if the game is able to maintain a stable frame rate at 60 fps.

While the team had earlier promised that no tether would be used when playing local co-op on the new console, this will not be possible anymore and the problem itself is attributed the limitations of the console’s CPU. On the other hand, players will still benefit from increased tether range.

Xbox Play Anywhere and cross-play support has been postponed till November as the team still is working out the finer details of its anti-cheat system known as BattleEye. ARK: Survival Evolved is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
