Assassin’s Creed Origins Xbox One X Has Faster Transitions, Greater Draw Distance

Other enhancements like increased texture buffer for shadows also detailed.

Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Origins is looking good on the Xbox One X, as new gameplay footage from CenterStrain01 on YouTube showcased 17 minutes of the open world action adventure running on the console. The city of Memphis is revealed in all of its glory.

In a new Q&A, Ubisoft noted the numerous ways that Assassin’s Creed Origins would take advantage of the Xbox One X. Along with support for 1080p and 4K resolutions, with images on 1080p displays being oversampled. Dolby Atmos provides greater sound fidelity while high dynamic range (HDR) lighting will provide more realistic skies. Sunsets and fire effects look more vibrant while shadows use greater texture buffers to appear sharper than other consoles.

That’s not all though. The draw distance for grass, plants and whatnot is twice as far as the Xbox One while the larger memory and CPU allow for higher quality architecture and vegetation. The added memory also allows for faster transitions from Senu (the eagle) to Bayek. The development team also noted that the Xbox One X allowed players to see “even more of the details of the world the team created” thus allowing for a more stunning rendition of Ancient Egypt.

Assassin’s Creed Origins is out on October 27th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
