Assassin’s Creed Shadows Lets You Build a Spy Network and Hideout

Players can also switch between Naoe and Yasuke, who each have unique skills, gear and progression, and recruit other allies.

The new cinematic trailer for Assassin’s Creed Shadows has dropped, offering our first look at its protagonists, Naoe and Yasuke. While Ubisoft hasn’t showcased gameplay, it revealed the first details, including the ability to switch between the two seamlessly. They also have independent skills, gear and progression.

However, there are two very intriguing mechanics. The first is building a network of spies, who will “be your eyes and ears across locations” when seeking targets to hunt. You can also recruit allies who have “unique abilities” and help out on missions. It sounds somewhat similar to the Brotherhood system from Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, minus recruits potentially dying.

The second mechanic is a customizable hideout for your league of shinobi. It’s fully customizable in layout, accessories and decorations, and you can also train your “crew” and craft gear. Interactions with characters are also possible, and again, this sounds similar to the Settlement system from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows launches on November 15th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC, but Gold and Ultimate Edition owners get three days early access.
