Assassin’s Creed Unity Not Possible on Wii U Due to Hardware Limitations

Alexandre Amancio feels it wouldn't be fair "to sell the same game but with different levels of experience."

There’s no denying that the Wii U is a great little platform. Granted it’s not the most powerful thing to have ever existed but there’s no way it could run Assassin’s Creed Unity, right?

Well according to the creative and artistic director Alexandre Amancio, “It couldn’t, it really couldn’t. I mean this is why from the beginning, this was going to be a new-gen-only title, because the crowds aren’t aesthetic, they actually have impact. If we did anything to hinder that or to reduce that it would have a detrimental impact, it wouldn’t be the same experience.”

So that’s a no. But for a change, rather than just blaming hardware limitations, he cites some actual reasoning that makes sense. “I don’t think that would be fair to fans, to sell the same game but with different levels of experience.”

Assassin’s Creed: Unity is out this November for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
