Assassin’s Creed Unity on PC: Patches Have Apparently Not Fixed Stuttering Issues

Ubisoft, all I want for Christmas is for this game to actually work as promised.

Assassin’s Creed Unity has by this point received multiple patches, none more than on any platform but the PC, where the game bordered on being unplayable upon release. But now it has come to light that, even after the release of multiple patches, Assassin’s Creed Unity on PC still seems to be suffering from major stuttering issues.

The issues are further compounded by the fact that each time the game suffers from a frame stutter, the physics seem to be reset, leading to some very aberrant and abnormal behavior for Arno. DSO Gaming has made a video showcasing just these issues.

In Ubisoft’s defense (now there’s a sentence I never thought I’d be typing out, they did specifically say when they released their last patch (one that allegedly targeted over 300 bug fixes) that the stuttering had not yet been fixed, and would be addressed in a future patch, so this is a bit of a case of making a mountain out of a molehill.

That said, it’s also absolutely shameful that Ubisoft would let a game, especially one in their flagship franchise, ship in this state.
