Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Requires Day 1 Patch for Playing Offline

Ubisoft says the patch is "mandatory", and a one-time internet connection is required even for those who want to play offline.

With Massive Entertainment’s Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora launching tomorrow, Ubisoft has provided some new details and instructions on certain features. It confirms that the day one patch is “mandatory” to start playing. If you’re looking to play offline, a one-time internet connection is necessary, which is worth keeping in mind for those who pick up the physical version and don’t have online access.

The publisher also confirmed that the Collector’s and Gold Editions on Xbox Series X/S will ship with two discs. As for co-op, it becomes available by finishing the quest “The Aranahe Clan” and allows another player to join your game. Activities and story missions completed in co-op don’t have to be replayed solo, with all progression carrying over.

Finally, though the Gold and Ultimate Editions offer unique cosmetic packs, you must unlock the slots in-game to use them. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora launches on December 7th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC. Check out our review here, where we rated it an 8 out of 10.
