Borderlands developer Gearbox Software has quite the wild card in Battleborn, an FPS that combines fast paced action with the leveling and customization options of a MOBA title. Just how much variation can players expect from Battleborn’s 25 playable heroes? According to a new video, more than they can handle.
Each character has 10 levels that can be gained in battle and two skills at each level, meaning 1,024 ways to play each one. However, if you rank up, you’ll unlock alternate skills which takes that total to 7,776 ways to play each one. If you head into co-op with five players in Story mode, there’s a massive 6,375,600 team combinations to take advantage of per hero. That number averages out to 49,576,665,600 overall combinations for heroes and teams.
The total in competitive multiplayer is apparently higher than the number of stars in the universe (heavy emphasis on “apparently”). That’s a whole lot of customization at the end of the day, even if you find a handful of heroes to stick with.
Battleborn will be releasing on February 9th 2016 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC but there will be a beta coming out before that. What are your thoughts on the game? Let us know in the comments.
