Can’t get enough Battlepacks in Battlefield 1? You can now purchase them using real world money.
Before you scream “pay to win”, it’s worth noting that Battlepacks only contain cosmetics, namely weapon skins. Though the RNG behind them is understandably annoying, they don’t offer any real gameplay benefit. The pricing for Battlepacks is as follows: one Battlepack costs $1.99; three will $5.49; five cost $8.99; 10 will run you about $16.99; and 20 cost $29.99.
Thus far, Battlefield 1 has been doing pretty well sales-wise. The NPD’s report for October 2016 revealed it to be the number one selling game in the United States, contributing to year-on-year increase in software sales (which is usually a big deal). It’s certainly doing better than Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, which retailer GameStop noted as underperforming for this year.
What are your thoughts on the pricing of Battlepacks though? Is it fair or just too pricey? Let us know in the comments below.
