It seems like some weird things are afoot with DICE’s Battlefield 1, where, after the newest patch for the game, players are experiencing a downgrade in the game’s graphics. Users on the Battlefield forum apparently noticed differences and degradation in the game’s visual quality on PC once the newest patch hit, noting a lack of tessellation, missing foliage, anisotropic filtering/textures, and just degraded texture quality, among other things.
The issues seem to not be restricted to the PC version, either- it seems like PlayStation fans are also experiencing downgrades in the game’s graphical quality, with the PS4 and PS4 Pro versions of the game both suffering a decline in the visuals post the new patch.
Thankfully, it seems like DICE will at least be looking into this- posting on Twitter, DICE’s Nils Hallberg said that the issues were unintended, and that DICE are investigating why people are experiencing a decline in graphical quality. So hopefully, these will be resolved soon enough. In the meantime? Battlefield 1 is still as fun now as it was before, so get back to playing.
