China may have lifted the ban on consoles but that hasn’t stopped the Chinese government from banning DICE’s latest first person shooter Battlefield 4 due to the China Rising DLC.
According to The Wall Street Journal, the Ministry of Culture issued ban on the game due to the four multiplayer maps which take place in China. Though an official copy from the Ministry, a Chinese newspaper said that the game is responsible for “discrediting China’s image” and “distorting the truth in an effort to mislead young people.”
This won’t affect the game’s sales in China since EA doesn’t officially distribute the game in the country. As of now, EA hasn’t commented on the ban. The good news is that the country is spared the problems that have been plaguing the game’s multiplayer since its release.
