Beenox Opens up New Studio in Montreal, Working On Call of Duty Mobile

The new studio will open up many opportunities for Beenox to take up even more ambitious projects across the Call of Duty franchise.

Call of Duty developer Beenox has opened up a new studio in the city of Montreal. This is the second office of the Quebec City-headquartered company, which should allow the developer to increase its already 400-employee strong workforce (150 of whom were hired last year), and in turn, take up more ambitious projects.

This new studio branch currently houses around 50 employees and a recruitment drive will be taking place to increase the studio’s workforce by more than 20%. The new studio branch will be headed by Nour Polloni, who has talked about how the city’s diverse culture will help in broadening the team’s critical perspectives, and in turn, help make games better than before. Polloni also says that the studio is looking out for both local and international talent.

“We are counting on the city’s great diversity of talent to build a team that will allow us to broaden our creative perspective and bring even more diversity to our development,” said Polloni. “This investment in Montréal is the next key step in our studio’s growth as we continue to support the creative ambitions across the Call of Duty franchise. We want our location to attract local and international talent and contribute to the vibrant video game industry in Montréal.”

Beenox has been one of the more prominent support studios within Activision, having credits on multiple Call of Duty games alongside continuing to provide support for the many content updates to Warzone. The studio is currently hard at work on new mobile Call of Duty game, which is being co-developed by Activision Shanghai and Digital Legends- read more on that through here.
