Bend Studio’s Next Title Could Have Multiplayer, per Job Listing

The Creative Director listing also asks for experience in the role on "at least one shipped triple-A or high-profile game."

Bend Studio has had a rough year thus far due to the cancellation of its live service and rumors of layoffs affecting one-third of its staff. However, it’s still keeping busy – new role for Creative Director has appeared on Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Careers website, seeking “experience in a senior creative leadership role on at least one shipped AAA or high-profile game.”

This would seemingly indicate a big-budget title, but even more interesting is the requirement for experience in “multiplayer game development and design.” While this may cause some worry, especially given Sony’s general handling of live-service projects, it could just be the implementation of co-op. Time will ultimately tell, so stay tuned.

Whether this is an existing project or something new remains to be seen. Last July, former game designer Jacob Feith listed “multiple cancelled/unannounced projects” on his LinkedIn, but how many of these “unannounced” projects are in active development is unknown.

Bend Studio’s last project was Days Gone Remastered, which was released in April 2025 for PS5. Check out our review. Its additional content would also be released for PC as DLC called Broken Road.
