Bethesda Comments On Fallout 4: Expecting Information In A Short Period of Time Is Unrealistic

Pete Hines urges fans to not make assumptions, and to understand their way of going about things.

Fans have been craving new details for Fallout 4, the next rumoured title in development at Bethesda Softworks. The craving has been so strong that some fans have been vocal about not even a simple 15 second teaser being provided to reveal the game.

ZeniMax vice president Pete Hines revealed that Bethesda is already moving on to its next project. However, he stated that it’s best not to make assumptions, since they won’t be providing any hints any time soon.

He also addressed the constant clamouring of fans for the same. “I mean [fans] have been clamourring for a Fallout game for a long time now. What people need to understand — whether it is Bethesda Game Studios, Arkane or anybody — expecting information like that in any short period of time after they moved off one project to the other is really unrealistic.

“We are not into annual franchises — just trying to spin out a version of our game year, after year, after year — like, we have never done that, I don’t see that it is something that we are doing anytime soon. But that doesn’t mean that we are going to take our time and wait six or seven years in between a game that a studio puts out. But these are big games that take a long time and folks need to understand that we have a very certain way of going about things,” he said to Polygon.

As it stands, this is a good thing as it means Bethesda and ZeniMax are committed to taking the time necessary to make sure the game is top-notch.
