Back in February, Bethesda announced that its PC-based Bethesda Launcher would be sunset in May. Players with games and saves on the service could migrate over to Steam in early April. A date has now been provided and though it’s slightly later, migration will begin on April 27th.
Though the process should be seamless, some titles may require manual transferring of saves. Furthermore, you’ll need access to your Bethesda.net account for mods, skins and so on. It’s also worth noting that access to one’s games won’t be disappearing. They simply won’t be available to play on the Bethesda Launcher so you can always begin the migration process later (though the company recommends doing so as soon as it goes live).
Your Friends List on Bethesda.net will merge with Steam for certain titles like Deathloop, RAGE 2, Fallout 76, DOOM Eternal and so on. It’s not possible to migrate to any other service outside of Steam so don’t count on accessing your library on PlayStation or Xbox platforms. The Bethesda Launcher will be sunset on May 11th – stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
