Bethesda Softworks’ Prey, developed by Arkane Studios, was quite the intriguing first person shooter title last year. In terms of sales, it’s done alright for itself but the publisher isn’t quite done supporting it.
We’ve seen teases for what could be DLC set on the Moon. Speaking to DualShockers at PAX East, Bethesda senior vice president for marketing Pete Hines talked about Prey. He noted that the company’s new community manager has been handling the game and offered some fun content around April Fools’.
“As with a lot of stuff, we’re not a massive publisher that just churns out a ton of titles. We never have been. We really stick with our stuff after it launches, as we have with Prey. Part of what you’ve probably noticed is that we’ve hired a new community manager, who’s been focused on Prey. She’s [Abigail] been awesome and has been doing a lot of fun stuff around April Fools’ and other things.”
However, Hines then noted that, “I don’t think you’ve heard the last of Prey. I just couldn’t tell you precisely when you might hear more.” Could that mean more teases are on the way? Probably but it’s good to know that Bethesda is keen on supporting the IP. We could see something akin to Dishonored’s Death of the Outsider, a standalone expansion to Dishonored 2 that released a year later.
If ever an announcement were to be made, E3 2018 could be the place. What do you hope to see? Let us know in the comments.
