Beyond Good and Evil 2 was announced what feels like forever ago, and in addition to having seen next to nothing of it so far, updates and concrete details on the game have also dried up almost completely as time as gone on, to the extent that many are wondering whether the game will ever even come out. Well, if it does, it’s likely that it won’t be releasing for a couple of the platforms that it was announced for.
As spotted by a ResetEra user, it seems like Ubisoft is now no longer mentioned the PS4 and Xbox One as available platforms for the (almost-vaporware) Beyond Good and Evil 2 beta, with their successors PS5 and Xbox Series X/S being listed instead. The game was, of course, announced for the PS4 and Xbox One (along with PC) initially, but seeing as it’s still a long ways off from launch, and considering when it might finally release even in a best case scenario, it would be far from surprising to see it dropping older consoles in favour of their succssors.
Of course, whether or not that day even comes remains to be seen. Ubisoft keeps on insisting that the game’s development is making good progress, but they’ve also said that it’s too early to talk about it right now, so whatever the case may be, we’re definitely going to have to wait a while to get some concrete details.
