Black Myth: Wukong’s Xbox Series X/S Version Delayed Indefinitely Due to Memory Leak Issue – Rumour

It's claimed that the action RPG is close to being ready for an Xbox release other than the memory leak issue, which is also being worked on.

Black Myth: Wukong launched last week, and has gone to to enjoy widespread success, enjoying not only solid critical acclaim and record-breaking engagement numbers on Steam, but even going on to sell whopping 10 million units at launch. Those on Xbox Series X/S have had to watch on from the wings, however, and more alleged details have now seemingly emerged on why that is the case.

Prior to the action RPG’s release, developer Game Science confirmed that its Xbox release was being held up due to technical issues, and known Xbox leaker eXtas1s has now claimed on Twitter that the issue in question was a memory leak, which caused significant crashes and performance-related problems.

The game was thus indefinitely delayed, with Game Science currently working on a fix. It’s claimed that Black Myth: Wukong is otherwise “close to being ready” for an Xbox release, but it’s currently known how long it will take to get the aforementioned memory leak issue fixed.

Given the sales that Black Myth: Wukong has seen and the positive impact it has had on hardware sales for PS5, one would imagine Microsoft, too, will be hoping to get the game released on its consoles as quickly as possible. After all, after having lost out to the similarly successful Baldur’s Gate 3’s launch hype and success last year, having another similar situation is likely more than a little frustrating for the company.

Black Myth: Wukong is available on PS5 and PC.
