Gears of War heavily de-emphasizes its story (probably for the best, considering how bad it is with storytelling), but really, the series has some great lore- notable among it is the Emergence Day, which is when the Locust horde emergences onto the surface of Sera and sets off the war followed over the course of the next three games.
“E-Day would be a really interesting one to explore,” former writer on the Gears series Joshua Ortega told X-ONE in an exclusive interview. “It has a lot of emotional impact, it was the day that Dom and Maria lost their children, when humans had been fighting humans for so long. The war was finally over, and then they had to take up arms against a greater threat. I feel like that’s the most compelling gap to fill for sure.”
Gears of War for the Xbox One is in development at Black Tusk Studios after Microsoft bought the rights for the franchise from Epic Games. Stay tuned to gamingBolt for more coverage.
