BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle Receives Criticism for 20 DLC Characters

The crossover fighting has a ton of post-launch characters without pricing details or info on their identities.

Arc System Works’ BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle is drumming up some serious controversy with its post-launch DLC. Along with 20 characters in the base game, there will be 20 more characters released in the future. There will be an “Additional Characters All-in-One Pack” according to an official post on the developer’s blog but players will be able to purchase Character Sets separately as well.

Blake Belladonna of RWBY will be the first additional character with an additional six Character Set Volumes planned. This will then be topped off with a final additional character. Not only have the DLC characters not been confirmed (outside of Blake) but the developer hasn’t revealed any prices either.

It also doesn’t help that those buying the base game won’t even get the original cast for RWBY (only Ruby and Weiss are confirmed). Further concerns about Persona 4 Arena Ultimax characters, conspicuously missing from the base release, being added as DLC also looms.

BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle is out on June 5th for PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC. Stay tuned for more information on the DLC situation in the coming weeks.
