After announcing the price in Japan, Arc System Works has confirmed the pricing for BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle in the United States. The base game will cost $49.99 while the DLC pass will be $19.00. Purchasing both together in the Digital Deluxe Edition will set you back by $69.99 but each DLC pack is priced $4.99 a la carte.
Here’s where things get interesting – the first DLC pack will actually be free for the first two weeks after launch. It will include Platinum The Trinity (BlazBlue: CentralFiction), Orie (Under Night In-Birth Exe: Late[st]) and Kanji Tatsumi (Persona 4 Arena).
Along with Blake Belladonna and Yang Xiao Long from RWBY, that makes for five total characters that are free at launch. The main difference is that Blake and Yang will be permanently free while DLC pack 1 will only stay that way in the initial two weeks.
Given the base roster length is closer 25 characters with 15 locked behind DLC, it doesn’t seem like a bad proposition for $69.99 (in the Digital Deluxe Edition that is). BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle is out on June 5th for PS4, PC and Nintendo Switch.
