With Sony’s output of PC ports for PlayStation exclusives seemingly slowing down, one would assume that the company has some announcements in the pipeline. Rumors have circulated about a new State of Play next week, and while the jury is out on whether Demon’s Souls remake or Gran Turismo 7 will be ported, don’t expect Bloodborne.
As reported by Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb on the recent Game Mess Decides, “Checked in on it relatively recently, and kinda continued to hear nothing is happening with Bloodborne, so don’t expect that.”
This only concerns a potential PC port, but as Grubb noted, nothing can really happen without FromSoftware’s involvement. Any hope of a remaster, remake, or a sequel is, as such and probably always will be, practically non-existent. Never say never, and all that, but over a decade since it launched on PS4 to universal acclaim, Sony continues to avoid revisiting Bloodborne.
Which is baffling since the Souls-like action RPG sold nearly 7.5 million copies as of fiscal year 2020, according to documents obtained through ransomware attack on Insomniac Games. Regardless, at least there are games like NEOWIZ’s Lies of P, which recently received the Overture expansion. Check out our review here.
