Bloodstained Ritual of the Night Will Have Post-Launch Content to Avoid Delays

Plans subject to change over time of course.

Inti Creates’ Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, the spiritual successor to director Koji Igarashi’s Castelvania: Symphony of the Night, will have a staggered release to help ensure it launches on time.

The developer recently observed the delays plaguing Mighty No. 9 and decided to release a significant amount of content post-launch, much like Yacht Games’ Shovel Knight.

“Following a recent conversation in the shoutbox with our community manager Mana…it can be confirmed that Bloodstained will follow a staggered content release. Some portion of the game will release first and then additional content (as outlined by the Kickstarter) will follow in the months to come.”

It’s important to see just how much content makes it at launch though and the developer isn’t too sure itself. “How much of the game will be there at launch day (Just the main game? More?) is unclear and probably hasn’t been decided yet but at the very least we should be able to avoid an extremely protracted release as with Mighty No. 9. We are still a longs way off from the game being done so of course anything could change.”

BloodStained: Ritual of the Night is out in 2017 for Xbox One, PS4, PC, PS Vita and Wii U.
