During PAX Online 2020, Gearbox Software made a number of new announcements for Borderlands 3. The looter shooter will be coming to PS5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S with free upgrades available to current players of the game. Progression will carry over as will any DLC purchased.
On Xbox Series X and PS5, the single-player will support 4K resolution and 60 frames per second. Up to four player split-screen co-op is also being introduced for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PS5. On PS4 and Xbox One, players will have an option for vertical split-screen. If that weren’t enough, cross-platform play will also be added in 2021.
As for new content, there will be a new mode, a new skill tree for each Vault Hunter and new Action Skills added. This DLC will arrive later in the year and will be paid. FL4K was provided as an example, having a new Trapper skill tree and being able to use a “Gravity Snare” as a new Action Skill. He even gets a new pet, the Hyperion Loaderbot, which can be customized in multiple different ways.
