Borderlands 4 Video Breaks Down Harlowe’s Skill Trees and Passives

The Truant family member and destructive scientist wields many tools to control the battlefield and support her teammates.

Gearbox Entertainment has finally detailed its fourth and final playable Vault Hunter in Borderlands 4 – Harlowe, a former Maliwan scientist and member of the Truant family. Unlike her brethren, she’s more invested in science, especially in the task of exploding enemies in creative ways. Watch character designer Tommy Westerman break down her skill trees, starting with Cosmic Brilliance.

Harlowe is all about applying the Entanglement status, and this skill tree offers all kinds of ways to apply it, from Personal Observation, granting a chance to melee attacks, to Action At A Distance, which spreads other ailments to entangled enemies. Chroma Accelerator, which fires a “disco ball of doom,” belongs to the Creative Bursts tree. Using the Voidstar Augment it can freeze enemies, but if you want to unleash it often, Field Research is a worthy alternative.

Finally, there’s Seize the Day, which centers around Zero Point. Equipping Strange Attractor causes all bullets to ricochet and hit targets in stasis, while Falling Bodies allows lifting an additional enemy in stasis and automatically slamming all enemies when it expires.

Of course, Gearbox is also set to debut Harlowe’s cinematic short later today, so stay tuned. Borderlands 4 launches on September 12th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC, with the Switch 2 version out on October 3rd.
