Borderlands 4 Video Delves Into Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode, Challenges, Firmware, and More

Creative director Graeme Timmins goes into further detail about everything that will keep players busy in the shooter's endgame.

After revealing everything that Borderlands 4 players can expect heading into the end-game, creative director Graeme Timmins went into further detail with the latest “Beyond the Borderlands” video. Check it out below.

Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode returns and offers five different tiers to progress through. Players must complete challenges, which will push their skills, culminating in a Weekly Wildcard Mission. There are also Contracts – bounties that award Eridium for respeccing the new Specializations, which replace Guardian Ranks for minor stat bonuses.

As you progress through Specializations, you can unlock new passives to become even stronger. One of these includes “Bullets Are Scared of Me,” granting increased damage reduction based on how full your shield or health is. Firmware is notable for providing set bonuses, though they’re limited to equipment pieces.

Advancing further through Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode tiers unlocks more bonuses, meaning even more ways to min-max. Borderlands 4 launches on September 12th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, with the Switch 2 version out on October 3rd. Check out the release timings here.
