Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Multiplayer Reveal Will Be On September 2

So until then, all showings will focus on the single player campaign, I guess.

If you wanted a look at the main event as far as a Call of Duty game is concerned – you know, the multiplayer mode – then you’re going to have to wait. Activision today confirmed that the world premier of the multiplayer for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, the controversial new upcoming entry in their first person shooter franchise, will be on September 2, via the Call of Duty XP event.

The event will also be open to the public, meaning it can serve as the fans’ first chance to go hands on with the multiplayer mode for Infinite Warfare (as well as the multiplayer modes for Infinite Warfare Zombies, Modern Warfare Remastered, and the final DLC for Black Ops 3).

Of course, if Infinity Ward and Activision are choosing to save the multiplayer for later, that in turn implies that the E3 showing of the game will be strictly focused on the single player campaign. That’s not much of a departure from the last few years, but with the reception for Infinite Warfare being as overwhelmingly negative as it is, maybe Activision should have considered changing the script this time around?

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare launches this November on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
