If prior reports are to be believe, though the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is set to launch as a full-fledged new entry in the franchise, that wasn’t always the plan, with Activision supposedly originally having planned to release its content as sizeable expansion for last year’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. It seems, however, that we’re still going to see some holdover for those original plans.
As reported on social media platform X by Trophy tracking site PowerPyx, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will not have a Platinum Trophy on the PS5. Apparently, on Sony’s current-gen console, the game’s list of new Trophies will arrive in the form of a DLC list for last year’s game, which means a Platinum Trophy won’t be included. Curiously, however, on PS4, the game will have its own, separate Trophy list, as well as a Platinum Trophy.
Whether a Platinum is something Activision will add to the game following its launch remains to be seen. For now, the company has made no official communications regarding the same.
Recently, Activision revealed the first person shooter’s global release timings and pre-load date, as well as its PC specs, which include hefty storage requirements.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 launches for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC on November 10.
