Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Battle Pass Will Come In December

The post-release content will come next month.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has already grossed over half billion dollars since its release not too long ago. But, of course, it’s never enough and more monetization is coming. While one of the biggest announcements around the game was that it would drop the season pass, there’s still something else coming to take its place in the Battle Pass. Today, we got an idea of when it’ll be coming, though it’s still not clear how it will be implemented.

In a third quarter earnings call, Activision confirmed that the battle pass for Modern Warfare will come a little later than expected, coming sometime in the last month of the year in December. It’s still not entirely clear how they plan to implement it, though during the call it was reassured that “all functional content that has an impact on game balance, such as base weapons and attachments, can be unlocked simply by playing the game.”

The Call of Duty titles, and Activision in general, have been infamous for putting excessive microtransactions into their games after launch and when there’s less scrutiny. Not that it ever seems to really matter, since people continue to partake regardless. We’ll keep you updated as more details emerge.
