For months now, Activision has been telling us that the only way to get Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered was to purchase the Legacy Edition (or Digital Deluxe Edition) of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
However, when Gamereactor spoke to Raven Software’s David Pellas at Call of Duty XP about the release break-up for the remaster’s maps – with 10 releasing at launch and six more being added later – he made a rather interesting statement.
“What we announced before today was that we were going to offer 10 maps on launch, and that’s still true. The announcement today is that the six remaining maps we are actually going to be delivering to anyone who purchases Modern Warfare Remastered, anyone who owns it or a version of Infinite Warfare that comes with it, they’re going to get all 16 of the maps for no additional cost.”
The part about owning “it or a version of Infinite Warfare that come with it” is interesting because the first part seems to indicate it will release separately. Keep in mind that this could be a mistake on Pellas’s part. If it’s not, it doesn’t necessarily mean Modern Warfare Remastered will sell separately at launch. More official information from Activision would certainly be helpful.
