Before Modern Warfare 2, Call of Duty games used to have dedicated servers for multiplayer on PC (though they still used peer to peer multiplayer on PS3 and Xbox 360). Modern Warfare 2 changed that, though, by switching the games over to peer to peer on all platforms, including PC, at least for all games developed by Infinity Ward- Treyarch famously continued to offer dedicated servers to PC players with their Black Ops games.
Well, if you were worried that the new Modern Warfare Remastered may follow the new party line, and ditch the dedicated servers of the original game for the peer to peer gameplay that the new Modern Warfare games offer, you’re in luck- according to Activision’s FAQ for Modern Warfare Remastered, the game will offer dedicated servers. Joy! Rejoice!
Of course, none of this changes the fact that to get Modern Warfare Remastered, you will still need to spend at least $80 to get the Legacy Edition of Infinity Warfare first. *sigh*
