Activision recently released the long-rumoured free to play Call of Duty battle royale title, Call of Duty: Warzone, and though there was never any doubt that it would see tremendous success upon launch, the rapidity with which it’s accumulated players has still be somewhat surprising. Within 24 hours, it had already amassed 6 million players, and now, it’s crossed another milestone.
Activision recently took to Twitter to confirm that Warzone has now crossed 15 million players- and this is within just three days after launch, which makes the figure even more impressive. It’s worth noting that Warzone is also part of the Modern Warfare package, and must be getting a lot of players through that, but given its free to play nature, I doubt it would have made much of a difference for the growth of its playerbase even if that hadn’t been the case.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and will be getting support for 200 player-matches eventually. Our review for the battle royale title also recently went live- check it out through here.
