Call of Duty: WW2 Expansions Will Add to War Mode

Sledgehammer has plans to expand War Mode in the coming months.

Sledgehammer Games’ Call of Duty: WW2 is Activision’s next big release for the Holiday season and after noting that the campaign would be slightly longer than Advanced Warfare, the developer recently confirmed that War Mode will receive new content as well.

Speaking to Jagat Review on YouTube, Sledgehammer’s Scott Whitney noted that War mode would be expanded and that enthusiasm from fans will only result in more content coming.

“Typically, if a lot of people are enjoying something, that’s a good recipe for getting more of it. So, I know we already have plans to deliver more of that in future expansions and to the extent that there’s appetite and enthusiasm for it in the fanbase, I can only imagine there’ll be more of it,” said Whitney.

We already knew that there would be more than one map for War Mode and it also makes sense that Sledgehammer would include even more with each expansion. Such has been the practice for Activision with each Call of Duty Season Pass. The question now is how much of each expansion will be dedicated to War Mode. Will we see four multiplayer maps, a new Zombies map and one map for War Mode per expansion?

Call of Duty: WW2 is out on November 3rd with the first expansion out several months after (usually). We’ll likely receive our answers in the future so stay tuned for more details.
