Almost mirroring the PS4 beta when it arrived, Sledgehammer Games’ open beta for Call of Duty: WW2 went live early. Those who pre-loaded the game can now try it out on Steam. The beta will be live till October 2nd.
The open beta is strictly for multiplayer but brings quite a lot by way of maps and modes to try out. The modes include Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint and Kill Confirmed with players able to choose from five different Divisions – Infantry, Expeditionary, Airborne, Armored and Mountain – each with their own weapons and perks. The level cap will begin at level 1 but eventually hit level 35 by the weekend.
The maps include Pointe du Hoc, Ardennes Forest, Gibraltar and Aachen. Operation Blackout is the sole map in War Mode. PC players will also have the benefit of playing around with settings like FOV resizing, framerate cap slider (which goes up to 250 FPS), native 4K support, support for Ultra-Wide and G-sync monitors and much more.
Call of Duty: WW2 will be launching on November 3rd for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
