Call of Duty WWII New Details On Campaign, Playable Female Soliders And More Revealed

Time to get hyped.

Call of Duty: WWII looks like just the sort of game the series so desperately needed, and if the final product will be as good as it looks right now, we’re in for a great game. In anticipation of the game’s upcoming launch, Sledgehammer Games recently held a livestream in which they spoke of a number of things related to the game. Thanks to this livestream, we now have a bunch of new information for the game.

One of the most notable pieces of information about the game in the past few weeks was that it would include playable female soldiers. When asked in the livestream if this was historically accurate, given the World War II setting, Sledgehammer noted that there were a lot of female soldiers in the French resistance during the war. It’s been confirmed that female soldiers will be playable in missions during the campaign, in the co-op zombies mode, and in online multiplayer.

Historical accuracy is also something Call of Duty: WWII is much more concerned with than you’d expect it to be. Sledgehammer said in the video that while the game will be looking to achieve the same cinematic blockbuster feel that the series has become synonymous with, they’re also going to try to be as historically accurate as possible. They also want to do the World War II setting justice. “It’s important to show what WW2 was like,” they say.

Sledgehammer have also confirmed that the Battle of Bulge will be featured in the game’s campaign. The Battle of Bulge the final major German offensive campaign during World War II and resulted in over 170,000 casualties. Seeing the horrific battle brought to life in the game should be interesting, to say the least.

Call of Duty: WWII is out in November for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Stay tuned for more updates.
