It’s safe to say that Capcom has had a great year so far with Resident Evil Requiem and Pragmata both doing quite well since they released. There’s also Onimusha: Way of the Sword for us to look forward to this September.
But the studio isn’t content to rest on its laurels, and a new report on its progress for the fiscal year includes plans to release several unannounced titles by March 31st 2027, i.e. the end of the financial year. What could those titles be? Your guess is as good as ours, but we think that the rumored Resident Evil – Code: Veronica Remake is now a very strong possibility.
It would make sense for Capcom to take us back to Claire’s harrowing time on that memorable prison island, especially since she’s been conspicuous by her absence in the franchise’s latest outings. It would also be a great choice for a remake, considering where it stands in the game’s narrative canon. Thus far, rumors claim that Albert Wesker has heavier role than in the original, and Claire is set to be the main character.
Resident Evil – Code: Veronica Remake allegedly launches in 2027, which should line up quite well with Capcom’s financial year. As always, however, stay tuned for an official announcement.
