Check Your Inbox: You May Have An Invite to the Alpha for Star Wars: Battlefront

Strike the empire before it strikes back.

Are you excited for Star Wars: Battlefront? You should be. DICE and EA’s reboot of the classic Star Wars shooter series is one of the most anticipated games of the year, and in a year that has games like Fallout 4 and Metal Gear Solid 5 to its name, that is truly remarkable. So if you are excited, and you wanted to play the game ahead of your launch, check your inboxes- apparently, DICE has been emailing invites to apply to the closed alpha of Star Wars: Battlefront to Origin users.

Note that the alpha is closed and has very limited space, so even if you get this email and actually follow up on it, there is no guarantee that you will actually get in. If you do get in, however, you better have a beastly rig, because apparently, the specs needed to run the alpha are pretty demanding:

  • CPU: Quad Core CPU e.g. Intel Core i5-2300 @ 2.8 GHz or AMD Phenom II x4 955 @ 3.2 GHz or AMD FX-8350 @ 4.0 GHz
  • RAM: 6 GB
  • OS: Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8/8.1 (64-bit operating system required)
  • Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 or AMD Radeon HD 7970 with 2 GB of Video Memory

Of course, the final game will be better optimized, so the specs will be less intensive.

Star Wars: Battlefront launches on PS4, Xbox One, and PC this November.
