Code Vein is an anime style take on the Dark Souls formula in a lot of ways- and it looks like the developers, who, to their credit, have worn their inspiration on their sleeve, want to appropriate even more features from From Software’s perennially popular action RPG franchise.
Speaking at Tokyo Game Show 2017 with Game Reactor, producer Keita Iizuka expressed a desire for adding multiplayer modes to the game, while also being quick to point out that nothing has been finalized, and he can’t share any concrete details.
“Yes, we are now thinking of the multiplayer support,” he said. “But we cannot tell about details on this part. However, we really focus on the buddy system in this game so with this idea we negotiating and discussing with the development team to install a multiplayer support system.”
Multiplayer would undoubtedly give the game a more vibrant community that would presumably keep it going longer than it otherwise would- so they would be smart to add the feature into the game. Code Vein will launch next year. It will be coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
