Counter-Strike 2 Announcement Coming Soon, Launching in Beta This Month – Rumour

Allegedly, the game is built on the Source 2 engine and boast 128 tik official servers, in addition to featuring improved matchmaking.

Other than the incredible Half-Life: Alyx and the not-so-incredible Artifact, Valve has released no new games in over a decade, but it looks like the company is gearing up to launch a third major game soon- and it’s allegedly going to be a big one. Counter-Strike has been a mainstay of the industry for nearly as long as Valve has been around, and it’s reportedly getting a sequel very, very soon.

That’s as per journalist Richard Lewis, who has been a reliable leaker of Valve (and especially Counter-Strike) related information in the past, and is now reporting that a follow-up to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is in the works. Allegedly titled Counter-Strike 2, the game is going to be announced very soon, and will launch in beta as soon as sometime later this month (though it could get pushed back to early April).

As per Lewis, Counter-Strike 2 is built on Valve’s Source 2 engine, finally bringing an engine upgrade for the series, which is something that fans have been demanding for a while (to say the least). The game will also boast 128 tik official servers, as per the report, in addition to featuring improved matchmaking, though the latter will allegedly not be available at the time of the game’s beta release.

It remains to be seen how soon the announcement will come, but we’ll be keeping an eye out for any and all updates, so stay tuned.
