As digital sales and subscription services are on the rise, it’s always interesting to see the increasing disconnect between digital and traditional physical sales. A good example of that is June’s digital sales for the US and EU PlayStation Stores.
The EU one is about what you expect. The much anticipated Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled topped that chart there along with the ever present Grand Theft Auto V and Minecraft. It’s pretty much in line with physical sales that we’re aware of.
But the US store is a different story as the number 1 game of the month was the very unexpected NBA 2K19. Crash had to settle for fifth place there (though GTAV and Minecraft stayed roughly the same). It seems almost random, but there was a mega sale on the game in the US where it was discounted to $2.99. Just goes to show how much something like that can impact digital charts in a way that won’t reflect retail sales. The entire list of both US and EU stores are below.
