The broad class of dragons are a mid to late game group of mounts that completely change the flow of gameplay in Crimson Desert. With both the ability to fly and do massive damage at your beck and call, dragons are expectedly difficult to acquire.
This guide for Crimson Desert is all about getting a hold of the dragon mount in the game.
How To Get Blackstar The Abyssal Dragon
The best dragon is an unmissable part of the main storyline, and you will first encounter it in Chapter 9: The Sage of the Desert. This itself is at least 50 hours into the game, and you only unlock it for actual use in Chapter 11: Truth and Reality.
Complete the Foreboding Shadow questline by defeating the boss to permanently acquire Blackstar as a summonable mount.
Blackstar Abilities And Limitations
The primary advantage of the dragons is their ability to easily traverse the entirety of Pywel. Blasting enemies with dragonfire and fireballs is another, though that consumes significant stamina.
The dragon can also evade incoming attacks by barrel rolling and diving sharply.
All of this power is countered by only being available for 15 odd minutes at a time, with a subsequent cooldown time of 50 odd minutes imposed before it can be summoned again. Both of those durations are real-world minutes, not in-game.
There also does not appear to be any in-game method to lower that wait time, and it is unlikely there ever will be, for the sake of game balance.
That is everything there is to know about acquiring and summoning the dragon in Crimson Desert.
