Dark Souls 3 is “The Big Closure on The Series” – Miyazaki

Director expresses desire for studio to "create new things."

Brace yourselves – From Software’s Dark Souls 3 could very well be the last Souls style game to release from the studio.

Director Hidetaki Miyazaki made this apparent when it spoke to GameSpot and talked about Dark Souls 3 offering a closure of sorts to the series.

“I don’t think it’d be the right choice to continue indefinitely creating Souls and Bloodborne games. I’m considering Dark Souls 3 to be the big closure on the series. That’s not just limited to me, but From Software and myself together want to aggressively make new things in the future.

“I believe that From Software has to create new things. There will be new types of games coming from us, and Dark Souls 3 is an important marker in the evolution of From Software.”

While one could lament the end of Dark Souls, there’s no denying that From Software’s been banging away at the same kind of game for years now – especially if you account for Demon’s Souls which released in 2009. Dark Souls 3 is out on April 12th 2016 in North America and Europe for PS4, Xbox One and PC so stay tuned for more info in the coming months.
