Dark Souls 3 Not the “Final Product” of Series

Director Hidetaka Miyazaki clarifies that it's a "turning point" for the franchise.

Though the press release following From Software’s Dark Souls 3 indicated that this would be the “final episode” of the series – with the theme centered around surviving the inevitable apocalypse – it seems this won’t be the final game by a long shot.

Director Hidetaka Miyazaki said in a recent E3 roundtable interview with VideoGamer that Dark Souls 3 was “not the final product for the Dark Souls series”. Instead, it’s being billed as a turning point of sorts for both the series and the developer. We’ll have to wait and see what that could possibly mean but there’s plenty of time to speculate.

Announced during Microsoft’s E3 2015 press event, Dark Souls releases in early 2016 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. From Software has already had a busy year thus far with Bloodborne releasing on the PS4 and Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin making its way to the Xbox One and PS4.
